Luxury Flooring Light Engineered Oak Smooth & Invisible Oiled Flooring - 14mm x 1900mm x 190mm
122.23 GBP
Our Studley Corn Oiled Engineered European Oak Wood Flooring has a total thickness of 14mm, providing exceptional resistance to daily wear. The thickness of each board is divided between an 11mm base and a 3mm solid wood veneer. Constructed from a bespoke multi-ply design, the base layer of the flooring is built with structural stability in mind. Each cut of plywood runs perpendicular to one another, and is highly compressed to make movement within the board impossible. This allows engineered flooring to be fitted in areas of high humidity and moisture, including kitchens, conservatories, and over underfloor heating. Above the core, a solid wood veneer is applied for additional durability and stunning visual qualities. The wear layer of this product has been milled from a single piece of European oak timber, expertly selected for its intricate grains and stunning textures. Each plank measures 190mm in width, proving to be a wider choice than many alternatives. Whilst this does not affect the integrity or quality of the wood, it delivers an aesthetic that’s more suited to smaller rooms, creating the impression of more space. For this type of flooring, we have selected an ABC grade of solid oak. This makes for a perfect blend of high quality close grains and small imperfections, such as knots and blemishes. Alongside this, a finish of invisible oil has been applied in order to accentuate the bespoke characteristics of the veneer. Whilst many oils stain the colour of the wood, invisible oils have been specially designed to preserve the wood’s natural aesthetic, whilst still strengthening the grain through absorption. During the manufacturing process, a micro-bevel is cut into the surface. This creates a small groove between each board, giving extra definition to the edges of your flooring, and added texture underfoot. Each plank comes in a single-strip effect at a fixed length of 1900mm. This makes for a more uniformed appearance in comparison to its random length counterpart. With staggered boards at equal intervals, you can achieve the prototypical look of traditional hardwood flooring. This product also features an integrated ‘tongue and groove’ installation system, making fitting hassle-free. Opposed to classical methods of installation, engineered boards can be floated, instead of fixed directly to a subfloor. As each board is designed to fit securely into one another, the need for additional nails and adhesives is almost completely removed, saving time and labour costs. The Studley Corn Oak promises a prolonged longevity, and can retain its quality for a lifetime. With our impressive 25-year guarantee, you can rest assured that your flooring is built to last. If any damage does begin to surface, the 3mm solid wood wear layer can be sanded and re-finished up to 3 times, allowing you to restore the look and feel of your boards to their former glory.

The tongue and groove joining method makes installation quick and easy and allows a variety of installation methods to be used, depending on your subfloor. Engineered flooring doesn't just look amazing, it is also extremely practical too. Thanks to the way it is constructed, engineered flooring is very strong, making it great to use in kitchens and rooms with higher traffic, where general wear and tear is fairly common. Engineered flooring is also able to withstand fluctuations in temperatures which means its compatible with underfloor heating, something that is increasingly popular in modern homes. The Elgin Flock Oak 240 x 20/6mm Engineered European Oak Wood Flooring is 240m(W)x2200mm(L) and 20mm thick with a 6mm wear layer. The fact we offer a 25 year guarantee with this product truly shows just how much faith we have in its quality and durability. The micro beveled edges on this flooring add depth and definition, meaning they make a room look larger, but aren’t as extreme as other beveled edges. This means dirt will not collect as much between planks. The fact this floor is oak also adds atmosphere to a room - the grain and knots add elegance, whereas the shade fits in with modern dark and wooden decor. With an ABC grading, this product has a stunning combination of natural knots, imperfections and variation which gives an unparalleled rustic look to your floor. This grade is often referred to as ‘rustic’ on other supplier’s websites and is seen as the main attraction when purchasing natural products. The planks are engineered, meaning they have greater stability than solid wood and can handle humidity changes better, but look just the same. This makes them suitable for underfloor heating, and more resistant to warping or shrinkage in such conditions - so are bathroom and kitchen friendly too! They will also last longer than solid wood in rooms with lots of natural light, due to the temperature changes this brings. This floor should be installed using one of two techniques. Option one would be to secret nail the tongue part of the plank into a wooden subfloor. Option two would be to stick the timber directly onto the subfloor with use of flooring adhesive. Please see the full, downloadable installation guide in the installation tab above for more information.

Very easy to keep clean as well, with only needing a sweep and a mop a few times a week to keep it hygienic. It is also resistant to scratches and stains. Luxury Flooring Light Solid Oak Brushed & Oiled Flooring - 18mm x 300-1200mm x 125mm
129.94 GBP
Another of Luxury Flooring’s brushed and oiled solid oak collection is our Brimham Cottage Oak 125 x 18mm. The Cottage Oak is made from one hundred per cent solid European oak. Once the raw material has been machined into floorboards, a brush is scraped over the surface of each board, removing only the softer grain. This creates a textured, natural feel and look to each plank. An additional benefit of purchasing a ‘brushed’ product is that the brushed design makes it near impossible for any scratches to become noticeable given the fact that their surface area is already textured; just the thing for households with young children and/or pets with claws. Once the brushing process is complete, approximately seven coats of hard wax oil is applied to the timber. The plank width of this product is 125mm, which is considered quite a narrow plank width. Narrower planks are often said to make a room look larger as you can lay more individual planks in the room. The total thickness of the Brimham Cottage Oak is 18mm (1.8cm) and the lengths are random between 300-1200mm (30-120cm). With the plank thickness being 18mm, you are able to sand down and refinish this floor approximately seven times. This process is usually carried out once every 15-20 years but this is your preference. Once the oak had been sanded, you would need to reapply an oil or another choice of finish e.g. lacquer or wax. Please note, many customers use this opportunity to change the appearance of their floor by applying a different colour stain. Brimham Cottage Oak 125 x 18mm comes with a tongue and groove fitting mechanism offering you a few different installation options; glued or secret nailed. The most popular way of installing a 100% solid product would be to glue it directly to the subfloor with use of flooring adhesive. The grade of our Brimham Cottage Oak 125 x 18mm flooring is ‘rustic’ which means you are likely to come across natural knots and imperfections within the batch; this is often seen as the main attraction when buying 100% solid wood. If you require any matching accessories for your project, we offer a full range of accessories in the ‘brushed and oiled’ finish for an exact match.
